No Faith No More at Electric Picnic

April 15, 2009

Hopes of a Faith No More appearance in Ireland seem to be receding with the news that they will not appearing at the boutique festival Electric Picnic as had been rumoured. The official line-up will be revealed later today and the reformed quintet will not be on it. With the line-up for Ireland’s other main festival Oxegen seemingly finalised, it looks like Irish fans are going to miss out.

Once again Ireland gets shafted! Why didn’t FNM tour Ireland during 95 and 97, I never did find out…?

Hi. I’m still a little hopeful for Ireland. Electric Picnic will add more dates at a later stage. Also there is stil the chance of a one-off date say in Marlay Park.

What about the likes of Slane? Could be a posibility. Isn’t there another festival in Wicklow in Septemer? Kraftwerk played last year. There’s the Garden Party too? Hi-Fi happening this year? Oh god I hope they play here..

They have played Slane before with g’n’r of course but I wonder would they fill it?The last time Patton played here was with Tomahawk in 2004 and the gig in the ambassador was pulled due to “Poor ticket sales”.Granted FNM are better known
but you wonder. As for Electric Picnic,I don’t reckon it’ll happen,Aug looks to be the last month for touring

    “gig in the ambassador”

that’s funny because I was at that gig and it was an excellent night.

Yeah, I was at that Tomahawk gig too. And it was a cracker. More to the point, it’s far from the last time Patton played Ireland. He’s been here with Fantomas since then as well as with Fennesz… So presumably there are Irish promoters out there with his phone number handy. Don’t give up of a show
