Faith No More to play warm-up dates in London and Scotland?

April 24, 2009

Rumours now abound that Faith No More will play “secret” warm-up gigs for their European festival tour in London’s Brixton Academy on 10 June and in Scotland on 11 June before their Download engagement on 12 June. A Bill Gould Tweet today alludes to being in Scotland on the latter date (“Anyone know a good restaurant to book a reservation, in Scotland, around June 11th, for around 6-12 people?”: although he does add that he’s only joking in his next Tweet) and leading British metal blog Thrash Hits has this to say: “Thrash Hits has heard from a reputable source that Faith No More are playing shows in both London and Scotland in the week prior to their headline slot at this year’s Download Festival.”

Faith No More memorably played Brixton in April 1990, released as the live video/DVD You Fat Bastards: Live at the Brixton Academy on 20 August 1990 (see video above). More news when we know more.

It’s “Thrash Hits”, rather than Trash Hits. They were bang on the money about Sonisphere and a few other things before official announcments, so hopefully they’re right about this too

God I hope this is true, couldn’t afford festival tickets at all this year so fingers crossed for these dates.

Just booked cheap flights from Dublin to London on Ryanair for 30 lids on the off chance the gig happens.
