Southside and Hurricane update

May 5, 2009

Somewhat belatedly we can acknowledge that Faith No More will play the main stage at Southside on Sunday 21 June with a slot from 22:00 to 23:30, the same time as Kraftwerk for any krautrock/synthpop fans out there. Earler in the day you can warm up for Faith No More with The Mars Volta, The Pixies, Duffy, Social Distortion, The Horrors, The Rakes and, er, Katy Perry and many, many more. For the sister Hurricane festival, Faith No More will play on Saturday 20 June with a headlining slot of 23.00 to 00:30 which means you’ll blissfully miss Ben Harper at the same time.

(I had planned to go to these two dates but have a stag do this weekend so I’ll be hitting Frankfurt on 22 June instead (and hopefully Brixton, Greenfield, Rock In Idro, Area 4, Highfield, Sziget and Rock en Seine too.)

Where can I view the times the bands are playing at the Southside and Hurricane fests? I’m trying to find out when Nick Cave is playing at Hurricane on Saturday.

    Thanks,
    Robert

Hi. Can’t link direct to every day but here is the Saturday and he’s on just after Faith No More.

“which means you’ll blissfully miss Ben Harper at the same time”. Blissfully? Ben is an amazing vocalist and musician. Also – at a Ben Harper concert in Oslo, Norway he played Lovage before the show.

Each to his own… I know a lot of Ben Harper fans but I’m not one after seeing him at my local festival in Switzerland too many times
