A quick round-up of tour and other news:

  • The Chile date has not been confirmed with Bill Gould’s latest Tweet saying “talks are in progress, but as not now, still not confirmed.”
  • Two countries are conspicuous from their absence on the now huge European tour: Spain and Ireland. No news on the grapevine of possible dates in either country although it is worth noting that FNM have  a free weekend on 9-12 July when Bilbao BBK Live and Oxegen take place. BBK still has acts to be confirmed for Friday 10 and Saturday 11, though Oxegen’s timetable looks packed already.
  • Mike Patton wil be taking time out from the Second Coming Tour to take take part in the Meltdown Festival in London on Thursday 18 June (the night before Nova Rock) to play along with the English multi-instrumentalist Fred Frith. Meltdown this year is being curated by free jazz legend Ornette Coleman and tickets are now on sale. (As spotted by regular reader tbeest)
  • More Patton news. The Guardian feature an interview with the Bionic Commando game producer Ben Judd in which he explains how Mike came to be voicing the main character in the game: “We pretty much went though a lawyer friend of his. He was a huge fan of the original game so he went out of his way to help us. What a fantastic individual. Definitely one of the bright spots of the game.”
  • More solo news and I’ve belatedly comed across a description of Bill’s soundtrack for the comic book documentary The Sequential Art. Quite is from the film’s writer and director Espen J. Jorgensen on the No Studio MySpace: “BILLY GOULDs soundtrack does not consist of so called themes, they are songs, real songs. (Ok, there are two or three themes, but most of the stuff he has made are SONGS.) It is kind of like a Faith No More instrumental album. Every song is different, and whether they are quiet or tense they have ENERGY(!)”
