Faith No More in Berlin set list

June 16, 2009

UPDATE:

Setlist updated again after more top sleuthing from tbeest.

Reports from commenters at the gig are that Mike P is now limping badly so seems the cane was not a prop after all. Mike is due to play the Meltdown festival in London tomorrow night before three consecutive festival dates this weekend at Nova Rock, Southside and Hurricane.
Here’s the setlist courtesy of Mr Bungle in the comments and also on last.fm:

3.From Out Of Nowhere
4.Land Of Sunshine
5.Caffeine
6.Evidence (in Spanish)
7.Poker Face/Chinese Arithmetic

9.Easy
10. Cuckoo for Caca
11.Ashes to Ashes
12.Midlife Crisis
13.Introduce Yourself
14.The Gentle Art of Making Enemies
15. I Started a Joke
16. King for a Day

19. Mark Bowen

ENCORE 1
20.Chariots of Fire/Stripsearch
21.We Care A Lot

ENCORE 2
22.Pristina

UPDATE: There’s a longer version of the review below by the same author in Die Welt. They repeat the report that tbeest had passed on earlier – which I put down to cane confusion – that Patton may have a leg injury. They also list the songs but it seems to be all songs played on tour rather than a set list. They also quote Patton’s reaction to the news that Simple Minds were also playing in Berlin tonight: “Who is playing? Simple Minds? Simple Minds? Simply Red? Simply Red? “.

UPDATE: First review in from the Berliner Morgenpost. Sample quote: “It was if Faith No More had never been away, so powerful, so dynamic as on the first day…driven by Patton’s phenomenal voice that now after over 40 years has reached its highest volume.”

Faith No More play the fifth gig of their Second Coming tour tonight at the Kindl-Bühne Wuhlheide in Berlin. Tickets are still available here. With Mötley Crüe and Neil Young also playing the German capital tonight, it seems that the FNM show, the first of six proposed German dates on the tour, will not sell out. Show time is 1900 CET with support from Farmers Market and Zu.
Unfortunately, Faith No More 2.0 will not be in Berlin for this one – or indeed for the next few weeks of shows – so all information, videos, photos and setlists will be much appreciated from German and other fans. Feel free to add a comment or catch us on Twitter.
UPDATE: A World War Two bomb has been found this afternoon in Wuhlheide. More (in German) here. Not sure how this will affect the gig or access to it.

A bomb, FNM is like dynamite! If I read it well, they say the bomb will be defused (deactivated – sorry my English is not perfect too) at 16.30 so that would mean no problem no? Nice opener act 😉

    http://www.berlin.de/aktuelles/berlin/detail_dpa_21543504.php
It’s the third bomb in short time and they have to evacuate 1000 people from the innnovation park. But also here they mention 16.30 deactivation of the bomb.

(Maybe this area is big though..)

I guess you people in Germany keep getting these things from time to time as well, last on we got here in England was in 2008 if I remember correctly in Coventry.

I wonder how many more are out there.

Enjoy the concert tonight Germany 🙂

If there are any German fans out there with a few extra Euro’s in the pocket would they care to pick me up a signed poster from the concert please?

    Thanks

^ Yep… Germany’s being spoiled… FNM should’ve transfered one of their shows to the Netherlands. What’s an FNM-tour without a gig in Paradiso?

Oh well, I’ll see them in Frankfurt anyway…

Yes. How do we get a setlist…
    http://twitter.com/spreeblick mentions:
I Started A Joke; Chariots Of Fire; Epic; We Care A Lot
And an after concert pic: http://twitpic.com/7ki8h

And yes, more shows in the Netherlands please haha, but ok, I go to Frankfurt and Lowlands festival so I am happy too.

the show was un fucking belivable.

yeah it wasnt sold out, but its a huge fucking venue and there are so many festivals and show in germany right now, that its understandable.

the crowd was so into it, and the band seemed to be really at awe by the love they were getting – patton said “that was fun” after midlife crisis/introduce yourself, something i never heard him say before (it wasnt said sarcastically, am quite sure).

the exact quote was: “so why didnt you go to simple minds? simply red? simple piece of shit? you like us cause we’re oh so complex…” etc.

and yes, he seems to have a serious problem with his leg – he was in anguish, but he still performed more than perfectly, i am truly amazed by him and by the rest of the band, but tonight he really showed what a professional he is – puffy asked the crowd to give him an extra hand for his amazing effort.

i hope he gets better soon, he really looked like he was in pain

i was too focused on enjoying this fantasy that came true to keep track.

it was along the exact lines of the previous shows, no last cup of sorrow, malpractice or jizzlobber, i started a joke and king for a day were part of the setlist, then they gave 3 encores and finished with pristina.

i almost wanna say im sorry they didnt play a few songs, but fuck it, it was beyond amazing so im not gonna complain at all.

Setlist check. Can anybody confirm the setlist?
Seems that Cuckoo might have been played after Easy.
See setlist comment, he could be right:
    http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/faith-no-more/2009/kindl-buhne-wuhlheide-berlin-germany-7bd60a28.html
Somehow I like the setlist to be correct. I must be a fan or so.
