I’m the saddest FNM fan in the whole world: Was really looking forward to bring two friends with me from Norway to the show, and – lucky enough – I came through on the Ticketmaster site in the very second the tickets were released. Everything seemed to go just perfectly. Then, as I was going to pay the tickets, I was told to enter a personal security code for my internet bank. I had no idea whatsoever I would need this for an overseas transaction (never have before), so I hadn’t brought the code generator thingy with me to work. I rushed out from the office, and made the 15 minute drive home in 4 minutes. Still, I was too late. And if that wasn’t enough, I’m losing the house I wanted to buy today as well. What a day – everything’s ruined. 😦

😦 Hope you at least get to see them next weekend at Hove. Not to be missed.

Thanks, and yeah, I’m going to Hove. Trying not to let the Dublin disappointment kill the thrill. Really really hoping and crossing fingers for more european small venue indoors shows in the near future.

Three tickets, ground floor standing (the exact same tickets i HAD, but then managed to lose) are now up on eBay for 590 euros. Obviously, I agree that the value of FNM can hardly be measured in money, but that’s f*cking robbery. It annoys me to no end that some people are snapping tickets away from real, honest, hard-working fans (and I’m not just necessarily talking about myself, here) just for the purpose of making money.

    Believe me I completely understand.

I had to buy my tickets on ebay for the Brixton gig for exactly the same reason! I paid approx £85 for a ticket worth less than half of that.

The gig was more than worth the money but it makes me so angry that people are buying them with the pure intention of doubling, tripling or even quadrupling their money!

I didn’t even know they were ‘on sale’ until it was too late. I dropped some pretty big hints to my wife about gifts for my birthday in August. Now that the gig is ‘sold out’ we’re back to my original suggestion; a new lawnmower!

I suppose it would be worse if I’d never seen FNM in concert; I saw them in the Point Depot with L7 (I think) and at Sunstroke in Dalymount Park (I was so glad when they replaced RHCP on the bill). And I think I saw current guitarist, Jon Hudson playing live with someone as improbable as Fleetwood Mac (or was that just a dream?).

Anyway, for those of you lucky enough to have acquired tickets, have a blast!

Oh, hi Jane (you are the same jane from the fnm forums I presume). I’m feeling sorry for you, I really do. At least I’ll see them twice here in Finland. Why don’t you came here? It isn’t that far away from Norway ;).

Gutted. Was at my computer since 8.30am this morning but failed to get any tickets. Have seen FNM all 4 times they have played Ireland and twice in England. More little “emo” kids at the Olympia gig than real fans???

  11. June 17, 2009 6:23 pm

I personally think that FNM were not expecting the turn out they have been having. If they were expecting this they would have gone to bigger venues I guess, I would have done.

Look on the bright side if they keep selling out another tour will be inevitable.

I am about to give my right arm for a ticket to the Dublin show and fly overseas to see them. I have no doubt it will be worth it. Let’s just hope it all works out. Kicking myself for not seeing them or Bungle way back when. A Mr. Bungle reunion would be amazing.

well i managed to get a circle seat after repeated attempts to get the standing tickets..this cushions the blow of buying a weekend ticket for Download and then snapping my achilles tendon …. According to Download I wasn’t quite disabled enough to get into the disabled viewing area…on a non refundable ticket…

Got a tkt for the olympia via ticketmaster phoneline. Website a disaster, had my account set up & ready to go. Filled out details & they wanted to know what my c/card limit was(security check). Had’nt a clue what it was. Glad I didnt try & queue up at my local ticketmaster shop in Drogheda. Guy didnt open until 9.05 & all tkts were gone.MUPPET. Cant wait to put on my official angel dust t-shirt from the point gig in ’92, hope it doesnt smell. Hoping to hear absolute zero on the nite.

yeah i was gonna go online and get mine and i realised that doing it online is a pile of crap if its gonna sell out so fast, so i went at 8oclock n sat at my music shops door lol. got myself n my friends sorted with tickets. i was looking at the tickets on ebay, that is mental like, i could easily have sold mine on and got a tonne of money but i wouldnt do that to a faith no more fan, after 11 years i think we deserve to get to see them, touts are twats.

Arrived at Empire Music in Limerick at 8am. Only 4 people in the queue before me. Bloke opens the shop at 9am asking us how many tickets we’ll be looking for. Persons A and B get 4 tickets each, and he prints out the 3rd and 4th guys 4 (between them) BUT they’re only seating tickets. The lads “asked for standing” but only 4 seating tickets left! This was at 9:02!! The lads in a panic ring their mates, who want standing tickets so they decide to leave the 4 behind. Enter me. Thank fuck! The last 4 tickets to be got…

Gig touts should be skinned to death and their bodies sold to science for quadruple the price.

I wonder will the venue be switched to the 02 arena? The promoters would never want to miss out on all the extra €’s up for grabs. Fair play to all those who managed to get tickets.

I assume you’re not including the North when you say “all 4 times they have played Ireland” because they’ve played Ireland more than four times. It’s at least six times at my count but it could be more.

I wasn’t able to get Dublin tickets but luckily managed to get sorted for Edinburgh

I’m considering trying my luck at the venue on the night. Sounds like I could be in for a scalping… secondary sites have them starting at £300 and heading north from there.
