Early start for Faith No More at Roskilde

July 1, 2009

Faith No More have headlined most of their festival appearances on the Second Coming tour but the re-formed rockers will have to contend with a 17.00 start for their set at the Roskilde festival in Denmark on Friday 3 July. FNM will play the Orange Stage before Nick Cave, Oasis and Nine Inch Nails.

Tickets are still available here and are will also be available at the entrance.

This blog will be at the FNM-less Rock Werchter this weekend so updates from Roskilde, Ruis Rock in Finland and Open’er will be scarce but we’ll try to point you in the right direction for coverage.

Lol, I hope Mike makes fun of NIN when performing at Roskilde. Trent is so utterly pathetic.

Argh. Every band including NIN who are at Roskilde are also at Werchter where I’ll be except FNM

I’m still waiting to see what festival will book FNM and the Chili Peppers on the same stage.

Then again, I’m also waiting to see if any US TV shows will have FNM on once their overseas tour is over.

If I was working for Letterman, Conan, or MTV I would be calling FNM’s agent every single day….

Well, least then they can go to bed a lot earlier that night…;P – (as known, they use to joke about how old they’ve got and need to go to sleep early)

Um, Roskilde is an oddball festival. The time a band play has no relevance to popularity. If i remember correctly the most popular bands have the 17hrs slot. Yet, I’ve always been too wasted at roskilde to remember fer sure.. doesnt matter anyway. Now the worst part is that people have to ditch ISIS after an hour to go see FNM.. 😦

FNM got the 17hr slot, due to the late confirmation of the show.
They where added after the whole festival program was released to the public, so all late slots where taken by other bands…
And yet theres been negotiation between roskilde and FNM since the fall of 08. Too bad it worked out so late 🙂

rumor has it that they sucked and fought on stage (at roskilde, that is).

i thought the concert at roskilde was great. they far from sucked. the crowd was a bit drowsy, though, since they played at 5 pm when it was super hot. minor annoyance was that they played both “i started a joke” and “easy”.

the “fight” involved jon and puffy. jon started playing the guitar intro to “i started a joke,” which i guess was a mistake on his side. puffy threw a drumstick after jon. patton then made some comment like, “meet our guitarist… jon hudson, everybody!” and handed jon the mic who said that the drummer was in a “bullshit rock star mood” and something about ozzy osbourne. jon seemed genuinely pissed. the rest of the band looked rather amused… roddy said something to the effect that “this is what we do best, and that’s how you like us!” patton then said something about guns ‘n roses that i didn’t make out. after that the show went on without a hitch.

Sucked? I just read the first glowing review from Roskilde.

    Here it is :

Dunno how it translates to English using google. To me it’s hard enough to understand Danish as it is 🙂
