Faith No More to play non-festival Australia shows?

September 2, 2009

Reports have reached us here at Faith No More 2.0 that Faith No More may be lining up some non-festival dates on their visit to Australia in February and March. The band have already confirmed four dates at the multi-city Soundwave festival but the re-formed band are now believed to be lining up dates in smaller venues. We understand that a gig at the Festival Hall in Melbourne may be on the cards and there is a possibility of shows in Sydney and Brisbane.
More news as we have it and we stress that so far we’ve only heard rumours from reliable non-band sources.

Keep an ear out for NZ shows too! I’ve got my fingers crossed for pre-Soundwave dates.

I really didn’t think Aussie side shows were going to happen, but then it occurred to me that FNM have never taken such a long amount of time off between shows. What would they DO for a week? If these shows happen they’ll sell out in seconds.

I was at the last festival hall shows. Now I live on the other side of the world – in the USA. Sucks 😦

I thought non-festival shows were possible before they comfirmed the Soundwave shows and definitely after (By the way, isn’t Soundwave five cities? And as far as I know, Faith No More are set to play at all of them…?) Soundwave Festival dates are set out in such a way that there’s time for sideshows in each city. In the case of Brisbane sideshows would be before Soundwave and in the case of Perth after. There’s four days for sideshows in between Sydney and Melbourne Soundwave and one after Adelaide Soundwave. Anyway, I hope to see them at least twice in Sydney. I’ve got tickets to Soundwave which is a start! 🙂 Somebody on the Soundwave 2010 forum was saying sideshows are unlikely because FNM have been playing mostly festivals and they have a busy schedule. But…they’re going to be in Australia at least from the 20th of Feb to the 1st of March 2010. This isn’t Europe where two days after a Soundwave performance they’ll go and play in another country…and like I mentioned there are gaps between the Soundwave shows. That and they haven’t been here since 1997 I think…? Sorry, I’ll shut up now.

BULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLSHIT! Festival Hall is the worst venue in Melbourne. It’s a freaking shed with bad sound, crap vibe and patrons are just cattle struggling to see the stage. I was glad when the old Palace burned down because that was a terrible live venue. Now we just gotta eliminate the Forum. I really wanna see FNM. I don’t want to go back to the shithouse Festival Hall. Grr.
