Edge of the World is a great musical tune. The lyrics are horrible. :/

yeah the lyrics are soooooooo “pedophile”!

“hey little girl, would you like some candy?”
“it’s not the point that I’m 40 years older”
“you can trust me, I’m no criminal”
“I’ll do anything for the little girlies”

I love how sick the lyrics are. So Lolita.

It’s not the subject. When Patton was in his youth, mainly at the helm of Bungle, he had plenty of off color or a little weirdish lyrics. These for The Edge of The World just feel forced without a lot of effort. I thought that when I was 14 listening to them and feel that even stronger now hearing a lot more of his prose. He just sounded lazy on that song.

It’s almost as if the lyrics got a little too emotionally heavy, so he threw some irony into the end of the song to lighten it up in a sick ‘n’ twisted sort of way. I dunno…

I believe most of the lyrics of FNM are kind of twisted, but they fit great with the music thanks to Patton’s ability to get them in tune.
